Why Us?
You may decide to use a project management company to manage the whole process on your behalf, or you may decide to undertake the project on your own. This will depend upon several factors.
If your French is poor, or you will rarely be present during the construction period, a project management company may be the solution. If you have a reasonable level of French, live close to the work site, or can frequently be present without having to spend a fortune on flights, are persistent, and determined, then you may be up for the challenge of doing this on your own. If you do wish to go it alone, you may find the book referred to on the last page of this site, a useful guide.
There are two main categories of project management company. There are those which offer a “free” service, and those which offer a paying service. The “free” service is of course not really free. You will not be required to advance any funds to the project management company, but the project management company will recuperate its fees through the price you will eventually be charged for the finished build. It is the builder or architect chosen to perform the work by the project management company, which will pay its fees, through charging you a higher price for the finished build. These project management companies offering a “free” service may work with just one, or a small selection of architects and builders, offering a limited choice of suppliers and limited negotiating opportunities.
We are completely independent, with no financial or managerial connection to any architect or builder. We act solely on our customer’s behalf, charging fixed fees, and handling the whole process from beginning to end, or simply undertaking those aspects of the project which you feel less comfortable with and for which you request our intervention. Our objectives are threefold:
To minimise the total build costs, including land acquisition
To ensure the build reaches the required quality standards
To save you time and stress
We specialise in the south east of France (from Montpellier in the west, to Valence in the north, and Cannes in the east), as this is the area we know well. For this reason we are prepared to undertake full project management in this region, including physical presence for land searches, purchase contracts, site inspections and after sales service. For all other regions of France we are only able to offer administrative services, in other words, reviewing purchase contracts (land purchases, service providers, building companies), formulating correspondence, and giving advice.
