Typically, the various stages are as follows, and you should expect the whole process to take around
2 years:

Choosing a plot of building land

Purchasing the plot

Designing your house

Choosing a builder

Signing the building contract

Ensuring services are provided (water, electricity, gas, telephone)

Selecting interiors and choosing colour schemes and the like

Making stage payments as the work advances

Final inspection and taking ownership
